Minutes
of meeting called by Michael Pomeranz on 11th of Jan.05 at 3:30 PM
- Members present: Lorena Espino,
Kevin Killgallon,
AnnaKaren Morelos, Katherine Nunes, Michael Palma, Michael Pomeranz,
Mark Spreitzer, and David Velasco.
- Michael Pomeranz
moved and Kevin Killgallon seconded that
Jackie Evelyn Lewandowski be elected to the new office of Quaestor
Agendorum for the remainder of the Latin Club year.
- Debate
held concerning motion focusing on the fact that the
Quaestor Agendorum would help with the management of the Latin Club
books, the ordering of shirts for convention, and relations with third
parties.
- Jackie was elected to the office of
Quaestor Agendorum by a
unanimous vote, a majority of the Senate being present.
- It
was brought to the attention of the Senate that the
candidates for IJCL convention are to be Sharon Neely for
Parliamentarian and AnnaKaren for Secretary.
- Discussion
held concerning the submission of amendments to
the IJCL, North constitution to Kelly Kono, IJCL, North
Parliamentarian..
- Mark suggested an amendment
stating that the minutes of the
IJCL, North Executive Board meetings should be posted online within two
weeks of their being held.
- Mark suggested another
amendment stating that the IJCL,
North constitution should be made available to chapters of the League.
- Discussion
held concerning ways for the Latin Club to reach
out to perspective Latin students.
- Michael
suggested having a myth contest and/or an all star
certamen competition.
- Michael suggested having a
Lupercalia festival Latin
Bingo—nothing was decided on either plan.
- The
Senate reviewed the reposnibilities of officers in
preparing for IJCL convention. Jackie is to work on collecting T-shirt
designs and ordering them. The T-shirts designs are to be put on the
website by Kavinda Wewegama. Michael is to contact Madson Thompson to
find out IJCL themes. The aediles are to have Mr. Field and Ms.Vargas
work on the IJCL skit. The aediles are to begin work on spirit
preparations for the convention.
- Mark moved that
the Quaestor Pecuniorum give a report on
the Latin Club’s finances at the next Latin Club Board
meeting. Motion passed without objection.
- Michael
is to help the Quaestor Scriptorum write a press
release in order to fulfill the requirements for the grant money.
- Quaestor
Scriptorum is to collect ideas for
Northside’s mottoes.
- The meeting was then
adjourned at 4:10
pm.
