September
25th, 2006
Minutes for Latin Club Meeting held on the 25th of September
- Andrew called meeting to order at 12:43 p.m. on Monday, September 25, 2006.
- The expressed purpose of the meeting was to discuss campaigning for elections.
- Floor was opened for discussion with unanimous agreement.
- Through discussion, the campaign guidelines for 2006 were setup so that they should be:
- Campaigning can be done only after the official list of candidates had been posted by the consuls.
- Campaigning
will consist of a half sheet of 8.5 by 11 inch piece of paper [from
here to be known as p.b] posted on the bulletin board adjacent to the
door in the Latin classroom.
- The p.b. will include the
candidates name, class, e-mail and whatever other information they
would like to include about themselves.
- The p.b. can only be posted after it has been initialed by both consuls in order to insure the appropriateness of the p.b.
- The
e-mail is to be included on the p.b. so that if voters have a question
for a candidate they may e-mail the candidate directly in order to ask
their question and then receive a response from the candidate. In no
way does the inclusion of the candidate’s e-mail on the p.b.
warrant the candidate being harassed through their e-mail or warrant
the candidate using the e-mail lists to spread their campaign
materials.
- The p.b. is to consist of/include white paper.
- Any writing on the p.b. must be done in black text.
- There may not be any pictures on the p.b.
- E-mail is to be the only form of correspondence between candidates and voters.
- Andrew closed the floor: 1st Anakaren, 2nd Natalia
- Andrew motioned to open the floor for voting: 1st Kavinda, 2nd Natalia
- The campaigning guidelines for 2006 as established through discussion were voted for unanimously.
- Andrew motioned to adjourn: 1st Adam, 2nd Natalia.
