November 17th, 2006
Minutes
of the meeting called to order on November 17, 2006 at 3:27 pm
- Members Present: Natalia Emanuel, David Velasco, John
Mussman, Adam Swiatlowski, Katherine Nunes, Jane Bialek, Spencer
Rosenfeld, Jacob Gruber, Andrew Foertsch-Jans, Kavinda Wewegama
- The
aediles express the intent to sell gum as a fundraiser for the February
2007 IJCL Convention Spirit Fees. The idea is generally accepted and is
set to be started during the soonest week possible. Jane Bialek and
Spencer Rosenfeld will attempt to meet with Dr. Lalley the week
following this meeting.
- On the note of fundraising, Toga-Treating went well, earning over $200 for Unicef.
- There
have been no submissions for T-shirts as of yet. Jane announces that
the support for the “Reasons to Date a Certamen Player”
stand at about 50%. Whatever the subject, the front and back of the
shirt should be coordinated this year.
- Officers should be the
official announcers of the board’s activities. Announcements
should be sent from the secretary via email.
- The 2006-2007 year
scrapbook needs a set workforce with underclassmen included so that
next year’s team starts with a basic understanding of the
procedure.
- Want the IJCL amendments to be submitted for February 2007 IJCL Convention reviewed by Mark Sprietzer.
- The Praetors need to get working on the grants we want to submit.
- Reading
of the skit submitted by Patrick O’Connor and Robin Tholin. It is
met mainly with praise. The question is raised as to it’s
adherence to the IJCL Convention Rules. The exact phrasing is read.
“Reference of drugs, sex, and alcohol” is not permitted. If
the rule is broken the “players will be asked to leave the stage
without finishing the skit.”
